Demanding a high-level and parliamentary inquiry committee on the 'visit visa' case, the parliamentarians of the National Independence Party (RASP) and the National Democratic Party (RPP) have boycotted today's House of Representatives meeting.
As soon as Speaker Devraj Ghimire started the proceedings of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, the parliamentarians of RSWP and RPP stood up and protested. Speaker Ghimire gave RSVP MP Tosima Karki time to speak.
Pointing out that protests have been going on for two months in the case of 'visit visa', MP Karki said that the protests will not stop until a high-level investigation committee is formed. She objected saying that it was a strange practice for the Parliament to continue functioning despite the continuous opposition of the two opposition parties.
MP Karki said that the Armed Police stopped the expansion of the road in Bhainsepati and demanded that the Mantri Bhavan, which was built by acquiring local land, should be allowed to expand the road. She expressed her displeasure saying that there was no proper investigation into the audio tape case where the minister demanded bribe.
RPP MP Deepak Bahadur Singh said that the protest will continue in the parliament until a parliamentary inquiry committee is formed on the 'visit visa' issue. He said that because the government did not give 70 crore rupees to Shahid Gangalal Hospital, the treatment of the child's heart was stopped, and he demanded that the money be provided immediately.
There is no consensus on the formation of an inquiry committee between the RSVP and the RPP, who came to the parliament against the 'visit visa' case. The RPP has demanded the formation of a high-level inquiry committee, while the RPP has been demanding a parliamentary committee.
