The 203 Nepalis who were stranded due to the flood in Lhende river, a subsidiary of Bhotekoshi, washed away Miteri bridge at Rasuwa crossing, today preparations are being made to bring them to Nepal through Tatopani crossing of Sindhupalchok.

According to Arjun Paudel, chief district officer of Rasuwa, Nepali people who went for employment, including drivers, were kept safe in Kerung after the flood. Poudel informed that they are being brought from Kerung to Tatopani crossing in 20 vehicles with Chinese security personnel. 

On the night of Bhotekoshi flood on the 24th night, 72 Nepalese including container drivers who were on the Tibetan side of Miteri Bridge in Rasuwa were rescued by China and taken to Kerung. Prazia Paudel of Rasuwa gave the information that they have been provided with facilities such as food and shelter. 

They are also about to be brought through the Tatopani border. On the day of the flood, some of the drivers climbed onto the roof of the container and saved their lives.   

Minister of Home Affairs, Ramesh Akhtar, had directed the Nepali Consulate in Lhasa, Tibet to coordinate to bring those who are stuck in Kerung to Nepal.

Home Consul Lakshmi Niraula was coordinating with the Chinese authorities for a few days after continuous efforts. At the request of Nepal government, it was agreed to bring them to Tatopani border. Sindhupalchok Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa informed that according to the agreement, representatives of the Foreign Affairs Department in Nyalam, Tibet, are going to bring hot water to them.

There is a program of handing over the Nepalis brought by the Nyalam administration of Tibet to the local administration team including Prajia Thapa of Sindhupalchok as representatives of the Nepal government. "We have reached Tatopani to take charge of the Nepalis coming from there," Prazia Thapa said. 

The Nepalese team is preparing to arrive at Miteri Bridge at Tatopanisti at noon. They were brought from different places including Kerung. At the request of the Nepalese government, the Chinese government is going to bring them to Nepal for free. 

Miteri bridge to reach Nepal from Kerung through Rasuwa pass has been completely washed away and there is also difficulty in traffic operation towards Nepal. Sindhupalchok Industry and Commerce Association, Nepal Himal Cross Border Commerce Association, Nepal Truck Container Transport Services Pvt Ltd had been requesting the government to rescue their employees and workers stuck in Kerung. 

Industry and Commerce Association President Buddharaj Basnet said that the employees, container workers and associates of Kerung-based business firms have requested to bring them to Nepal. Prazia Thapa informed that Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality will take the Nepali people coming from Tatopani to Kathmandu and arrange food immediately.
