UML Deputy Secretary General Pradeep Gyawali has said that no one related to UML who is involved in the bribe transaction of 134 ropani of litchi plantation in Pokhara Batulechaur will be protected.
Speaking at a think tank organized by UML Kaski on Wednesday, he said that no one will be protected. ``He (the then General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta) will be investigated by the authority,'' he said, ``If he is innocent, he will get immunity. If he is guilty, no one will be protected because he is an UML. He said that the UML cannot take charge of personal transactions. ``You should be in charge of personal business. UML is not a place to cover up mistakes,' he told the leaders and activists.
He claimed that the then Administration Minister Gupta resigned because of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's request. ``There was a dispute about the land of Pokhara. Moving the blank paper in front of him, the Prime Minister told the minister what to write. He gave it to politics,'' he said.
Minister Gupta involved in the bribery case of lychee plantation, middleman Sujan Lama also belongs to UML. Lama is currently a member of the UML Provincial Committee Advisory Council.
