Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has released a budget of 31 billion 40 million rupees on Wednesday. In this, capital expenditure is 12 billion, operational expenditure is 6 billion and financial management expenditure is around 13 billion.
In the budget passed by the Board of Directors of the Authority chaired by Tourism Minister Badri Pandey on Wednesday morning for the fiscal year 2082/83, the Authority has stated that 51 percent of its income will come from internal income, 18 percent from loans and shares from the Government of Nepal, 16 percent from bank balances, and 13 percent from government sources including VAT. Pradeep Adhikari, director general of the authority, said that due to lack of resources, new infrastructure expansion projects were not included in the budget this year. "Projects worth about 8 billion rupees could not be included in the budget due to lack of resources", the Director General said in a press conference held in Sinamangal. The
budget has given priority to strengthening aviation safety and regulation, infrastructure development and airport operation, air navigation capacity and efficiency improvement, passenger service improvement and air service promotion, cooperation with international organizations, etc.
Similarly, budget has been allocated for projects such as Pokhara Regional International Airport, Second International Airport Nijgarh, Gautam Budh Airport for cargo development under Gaurav's project. Similarly, the infrastructure improvement and expansion of airports in Bajura, Mahendranagar, Doti, Jumla, Bajura, Taplejung, Dadeldhura, Dang, Nepalganj, Simikot, Dolpa and other areas have also been included in the budget. Similarly, a budget of 5 billion rupees has been allocated for the works under the air transport capacity enhancement project at Tribhuvan International Airport. Under the multi-year project, international apron and taxiway expansion, hangar construction and other works are being done .
Meanwhile, the Tourism Board has also passed a budget equal to 1 billion 600 million rupees for the current year 2082/83. However, a board member said that due to some administrative problems, the budget has not been made public. According to him, the board passed the budget on June 31.
