Speaker Devraj Ghimire along with the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs discussed with the leaders of RSVP and RPP who have been obstructing the Parliament on the visit visa issue.

According to his secretariat, Speaker Ghimire held discussions with Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasia, RPP Acting Chairman DP Aryal and RPP Vice-Chairman Wise Tamang on Tuesday afternoon. During the discussion, Speaker Ghimire asked the opposition parties to remove the obstruction of parliament. The government has said that it will issue 121 bills in the coming financial year. But when the House is constantly obstructed, it is necessary for everyone to think about what will happen to those bills. I urge the government and the opposition parties to create an environment to run the parliament," said the press note issued by the speaker's secretariat.

Speaker Ghimire also reminded that he had to run the House in a forced situation. 'Both parties have not participated in the continuous parliamentary proceedings regarding the visa issue. Since there is no dialogue between the government and you, it has affected the parliament. As Speaker, I am feeling awkward. Even if someone else is the speaker in my place, there is a compelling situation to run the parliament," the speaker said, "I have nothing to say about your theoretical, political and issues. However, parliamentary activities have been affected.'

Law Minister Chaurasia also asked the leaders of RSWP and RPP to be flexible saying that the government will not weaken the opposition parties. The government has formed an inquiry committee and started work, that too with the consent of the main opposition party. The government is not in favor of ignoring the opposition. The government is still discussing with the RASWP and RPPA,' he said, 'You should also be flexible to reach a point of agreement, the government will do the necessary homework.'

RSWP Acting Chairman Aryal said that despite the initiative taken by Speaker Ghimire, the government showed irresponsibility. 'The speaker has continuously taken initiatives for consensus. Many meetings were also postponed for consensus," the press note says, "but the issues we have raised are very serious. On the contrary, the government has shown irresponsibility in addressing such a serious issue.'

RPP Vice President Tamang stated that they could not return to the issue raised by them in the case of visit visa without agreement, and said that the Parliament was not informed about what the investigation committee was doing.
