CPN (UML) chief whip Mahesh Bertaula has informed that the party's central committee leaders are of the opinion that former president Bidya Devi Bhandari should not return to politics.
Bertaula said this while talking to mediapersons after the Central Committee meeting held at the party's Central Office, Chasal on Tuesday.
According to him, most of the leaders who expressed their opinion in the meeting discussed the legislation to be presented in the National Convention and its revised provisions. He said that the matter of former President Bhandari was also discussed in that context.
He said, 'The central committee members who have spoken so far have expressed the opinion that it would be appropriate to remain in the position of the former president. It is held that returning to party politics is not good for the system and order. It has also been suggested that the party should take necessary decisions about this.'
Chief Whip Bertaula has also informed that the meeting is ready to conclude today.
