Ex-officers have reached Budhanilkanth to meet Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Leaders including former Congress vice president Prakashman Singh, Vijay Kumar Gachchdar and Gopalman Shrestha have come to meet Deuba.

Similarly, former Congress General Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula and spokesperson Prakasharan Mahat are also present. Recently, the leaders came to meet Deuba when they were fighting with the UML on the Civil and Land Bills.

They drew Deuba's attention to the fact that the 7-point agreement made with UML during the formation of the government should be fully implemented. On Monday afternoon, 6 former officials gathered at Chaksibari residence of Singh, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister. Deputy Prime Minister Singh, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Vijay Kumar Gachchdar, Gopalman Shrestha, Dr. Shashank Koirala and Bimalendra Nidhi were participants. Spokesman Mahat also participated in Monday's meeting.

The Prime Minister's insistence on moving the land bill, which has a lot of public concern and interest, on a 'fast track' and the UML's amendment proposal to remove the 'cooling off period' from the civil bill has started a fight between the ruling Congress and the UML.

Opposition parties, including the Congress, are adamant that the land bill should be taken to a parliamentary committee for discussion. But Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is in favor of passing it through the 'fast track' without going to the parliamentary committee.

The proposal put by UML in the National Assembly to remove the provisions related to the 'cooling off period' in the Civil Bill has made the Congress most suspicious of the rift in the alliance.
