More than 40 of the 49 central members who spoke in the UML Central Committee have basically supported the draft law approved by the central officials, the Politburo. They supported the draft saying that the original spirit of the law was correct.

"Basically, ideas have come in support of the legislative draft," said Rajendra Gautam, head of the Publicity Department, "suggestions have come to correct some technical issues."

Some central members said that the conflict between President KP Sharma Oli and former President Bidya Bhandari should not be escalated. "It was seen that the central member was made to speak in the manner that there is no alternative to the president with prior preparation," said a central member, "The issue of age limit and two terms in the same position in the party and the fact that the former president should be activated in the UML was not seen very much."
