People's representatives of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city have started a protest against the chief district officer and chief inspector of police of Makwanpur.
Sub-metropolitan spokesman and No. 1 ward president Savin Neupane was attacked even after a month has passed and the people's representatives are protesting as the attacker has not yet been caught. They started the protest by placing a table in the district administration office and providing services.
While working in the ward, Neupane was attacked on June 4 at 4:30 in the afternoon. Even after a month of the incident, the police-administration did not arrest anyone, and the people's representatives protested.
Hetaunda's ward presidents have said that they will provide services by placing a table inside the district administration office premises for two days and after that they will announce more protests. "It is the helplessness of the Makwanpur police administration that even after a month has passed since the attack on the ward president, the assailant has not been arrested," said Ramakrishna Koirala, the ward president of Hetaunda-16.
Even after a month of the incident of attack on Ward Chairman Neupane, the police-administration is facing all-round opposition in Hetaunda saying that the security situation of the district is very weak. Chief District Officer Skim Shrestha, who is in charge of the District Administration Office, and Superintendent of Police Bishwaraj Khadka, who is in command of the Makwanpur Police, said that they will not sit in the talks because there is no possibility of getting justice.
About a month ago, businessmen protested against the chief district officer and the chief of police, saying that the police administration was not able to act effectively even when the businessmen were beaten up in the middle of the day in Hetaunda's central market area.
It is the public representative's allegation that the police stopped searching for the person who attacked Ward Chairman Neupane. When the police did not arrest the assailant, other people's representatives also started to feel the danger.
