Armed Police Chief IGP Raju Aryal has informed that the daily ration allowance for the armed police working in Kadmadoon Valley has been reduced. He said that from ration to clothing allowance for the armed police has been reduced.
In the Friday meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly, IGP Aryal said that there is a lack of budget to buy clothing allowance according to the standards set by the government.
Aryal said that the daily ration allowance of the armed police working in Kathmandu Valley is also low. 'Had to work on many problems . Ration for security personnel is also very low. I have already stated that the ration allowance in Kathmandu from morning tea to bedtime is 203 rupees. It is necessary to manage from that amount,' Aryal added, 'If we want to buy clothes according to the standards set by the government, 3 billion rupees will be required annually. But last year we were given only 61.18 million rupees . This amount is not enough to buy clothes and boots, and why is it not enough to buy boots?' He said that quality clothes and boots could not be bought due to lack of funds.
Armed Police Chief Aryal said that he had to work in 17 districts by keeping a temporary office. He said that there is no permanent office of armed police in 17 districts including Dhading and Sindhuli. He said that although the government has set a target of establishing 425 BOPs, only 260 have been established. He also informed that there is a shortage of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles with the armed police.
Aryal said that the police are working despite the lack of budget and other necessary means. He said that the government should manage the necessary budget for the police.
