1 thousand 57 victimized savers have reached an agreement with Dev Kumar Nepali, president of Image Savings and Loan Cooperative, who is on trial on the charge of saving money fraud. Most of them have made a reconciliation letter according to the savings saying that they got the money together in Gharsar.
Most of the people who have saved less than 1 lakh rupees have received it in cash, while others have made transaction papers.
In June 2080, 1,543 savers of cooperatives filed a complaint against Nepali on the charge of defrauding 1 billion 54 million rupees. The district court sent the directors to prison for preliminary investigation in the cooperative fraud case on 5 July 2080. In August 2080, another 30 people filed a supplementary complaint. The fugitive Nepalis were arrested and brought from India and sent to prison in October 2081. He is also the suspended head of Dhorpatan Municipality.
Nepalis have more assets than the accused Bigo, after getting assurances that they will sell them, the victims started a reconciliation campaign. As of Wednesday, 1,57 of the complainants have stood in favor of withdrawing the case. Sarita Kandel, Dil Bahadur Karki and Lokendra KC, who have a large amount of money only on Wednesday, have also settled.
District Attorney Purna Prasad Sharma said that the complaint of fraud of 25 crore rupees is pending. "If everyone reaches an agreement, the Nepalese can be released from prison and sell movable and immovable property to return the money to the victims," said Sharma. The victim had been campaigning for reconciliation for 6 months. "This campaign has almost reached completion," said Ram Sharma, a Nepali lawyer.
Co-operatives in Baglung, Galkot, Burtiwang and Pokhara were embezzled to the tune of 1.54 billion rupees in the preliminary investigation of the co-operative registrar's office in Pokhara. Apart from that, 2 houses in Baglung Municipality-2 were auctioned last month after the Nepalese did not pay the loan taken from the National Cooperative Bank in Baglung. 21 crore has been recovered from the auction.
Other officers of Image Chitra Bahadur Bhandari, Narmati Budha, Shakti Kisan, Dor Bahadur Pariyar and Anita Budhamgar have been arrested in the case of co-operative fraud. They are in pre-trial detention by order of District Court Baglung dated 5th July 2080.
