Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta, who was embroiled in a controversy after a bribe conversation with a middleman, has resigned.

Baluwatar has confirmed that Minister Gupta has resigned. On Monday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli called Gupta and instructed him to give an explanation within 24 hours and to resign if he is not satisfied. According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Gupta recently went to the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, and submitted his resignation.

Minister Gupta has written on social media on Facebook, ' I have resigned from the post of Minister of General Administration to the Honorable Prime Minister to investigate the allegations against him and bring out the truth.'

Mentioning that it is known to everyone that his name has been linked with bribe deals for a few days, he said, 'Sometimes it tastes like uneaten poison. I am a victim of that now .'

After the audio of the financial transaction between Gupta and the middleman was released, there was a demand to fire him . It is heard in the audio that the middleman asked Minister Gupta to call the Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari to appoint Khem Bahadur Pun as the Chairman of Land Commission Kaski.
