In a special address to the Parliament, Chairman of the main opposition party Maoist and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused the current government of acting in the interests of brokers and middlemen and has exposed the nature of the unnatural alliance to the shame of the people.
"The vested interest behind what you argued while forming the government has been exposed to the shame of the people," he said.
He gave examples of incidents like the Securities Board, Bhutanese refugee scandal, land scam, electricity arrears, land mafia protection, and millions of deals in transfer-appointment, and he seriously accused the government regulatory agencies of working at the behest of middlemen.
Expressing concern about the new license distribution process of the stock exchange and the security agency's purchase of arms, he raised the question whether the government is ready to proceed according to transparency and standards.
During the
speech, President Dahal said, 'The government is moving towards the complete collapse of good governance by following the direction of commission deals and brokers, which is a dangerous sign for democracy.'
