Dahal's question to the government: Where did the fertilizer and electricity go?

Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government is not serious about the people's problems, saying that there is a situation where fire cannot be lit in farmers' stoves. Addressing the House of Representatives on Monday, Dahal said that the government did not provide fertilizer to the farmers even in the middle of planting.

"Last year, the government under my leadership had allocated a budget of 27.97 billion to supply 550,000 tons of fertilizer for the current financial year while ensuring fertilizer distribution. However, the fertilizer has not reached the farmer's fields even when June is coming to an end, said Chairman Dahal. Publicizing the fact that more than 200,000 metric tons of fertilizer has not been imported so far, he asked, 'Where did the fertilizer that was said to have been imported go?

Dahal also asked the government to end the favoritism based on power and access to fertilizer distribution. He suggested the government to reconsider the fact that the arrears of the sugarcane farmers have not yet been paid, and the subsidy has been reduced by half. Mentioning that the farmers of Terai-Madhesh are in crisis due to lack of irrigation and sufficient rainfall, he said, 'The paddy fields are drying up, the planted paddy crops are also dying. In such a situation, the agricultural meter is stopped, the electricity supply is off.'

Dahal has drawn the attention of the government to immediately provide agricultural meters to farmers, start electricity supply, arrange proper irrigation system and provide immediate relief.
