The National Assembly has instructed the government to implement the matters mentioned in the proposal of urgent public importance on the basis of priority on the need to make "more special arrangements to make the lives of senior citizens safe, quality and dignified".
In today's meeting of the National Assembly, members Sumitra BC proposed and Urmila Aryal, Kamala Pant, Bhagwati Neupane, Maya Prasad Sharma, Madankumari Shah (Garima), Padam Bahadur Pariyar and Pooja Choudhary supported the proposal.
Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Vimala Ghimire, directed the government to implement the issues mentioned in the resolution and the commitment expressed by the Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens in the Assembly on a priority basis. meeting, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawalkishore Shah Sudi, responding to the proposal of urgent public importance, mentioned that he is serious about the problems of senior citizens. He emphasized that the proposal containing important questions should be implemented effectively. In addition, he said that the issue related to senior citizens is not only related to the Ministry of Women, but also to the Ministry of Health, Law and Finance, so all the ministries should work with sensitivity.
According to Minister Sudi, the ministry is preparing to introduce a bill to address the concerns of senior citizens within three months. He pointed out that policies should be made keeping in mind the financial situation of senior citizens who are in real trouble.
Participating in the discussion earlier, member Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achami said that an orderly and dignified lifestyle should be arranged for senior citizens.
