A proposal of urgent public importance has been presented in the National Assembly saying that 'more special arrangements should be made to make the lives of senior citizens safe, quality and dignified'.

In the meeting of the National Assembly on Friday, the proposal was presented with member Sumitra BC as proposer and Urmila Aryal, Kamala Pant, Bhagwati Neupane, Maya Prasad Sharma, Madankumari Shah (Garima), Padam Bahadur Pariyar and Pooja Chaudhary as supporters. Presenting the

proposal, member Bisi said that employment should be arranged for those who fall under the definition of senior citizen but do not receive social security allowance. She also stressed on the need to develop a culture of respecting and protecting senior citizens.

vs. It was informed that the proposal, which was registered on 31st June 2082, was presented today. Supporting the

proposal, Member Aryal expressed the opinion that the proposal will also help to honor the senior citizens who have contributed to the country when the population of youth is decreasing and the number of senior citizens is increasing.
