Senior leader Shekhar Koirala has objected to the action taken by the Central Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress against the party leaders.
The Koirala group has also requested that the action taken by the disciplinary committee be withdrawn immediately, stating that it is against the law and unilaterally. The leaders have also said that they have decided to resist it politically if the action is not withdrawn.
After the Central Committee meeting last week, Disciplinary Committee Coordinator Anand Dhungana informed the leaders of various districts across the country through a statement on Wednesday. Leader Koirala had called a meeting of his group on Thursday morning expressing dissatisfaction with the
action. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Dhanraj Gurung, Joint Chief Minister Jeevan Pariyar, leaders Arjun Narsingh KC, Bal Bahadur KC, Minendra Rizal, member of the Disciplinary Committee Sanjay Gautam and others.
In the meeting, it was agreed that the file of the disciplinary committee should not be used now. But now it has been informed that action has been taken," a leader of the Koirala group expressed his displeasure about the decision of the disciplinary committee. "We discussed it today. This action, which is unilaterally resisted against the law, is not acceptable.'
The disciplinary committee decided to take action against Tulsi Subba, the general committee member of Tehrathum, Kumar Khadka, the general committee member of Kaski, Vikram Khanal, the general minister of Lumbini province, Khotang chairman Bishnu Kumar Rai, Parsa-1 chairman Arvindukumar Gupta and the outgoing chairman of Kaski Krishna KC. The disciplinary committee has decided to suspend their membership for 3 months to 1 year.
