In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, the MPs have expressed their grief over the loss of property caused by the floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Tuesday and suggested that diplomatic initiatives should be taken regarding the cross-border disaster.
They said that the threat of glaciers in various regions of China is also seen in Nepal and emphasized that diplomatic initiatives should be taken to exchange information and cooperate for a solution. In the
meeting, MP Rajendra Bajgai expressed grief over the damage caused by the flood in Rasuwa's Bhotekoshi on Tuesday and demanded the government to speed up the rescue and relief efforts. He suggested that diplomatic initiatives should be taken to solve such disasters.
Member of Parliament Madhav Prasad Sapkota said that there was a huge loss of life and property due to the flood in Rasuwa and demanded for the speedy search and rescue of the missing citizens. He pointed out that although the Chinese side informed about the incident, they did not exercise caution, and drew the attention of the government to discuss with the Chinese government and exchange information regarding the glaciers that are at risk in the border area.
