Doctors protested at the call of the Nepal Doctors Association on Tuesday at Maitighar in Kathmandu. The consumer court ruled that the treatment was 'medically negligent' and ordered the hospital and the doctors involved in the treatment to pay compensation in three different cases.

On Monday, the doctors who stopped the service in health institutions all over the country, except for emergencies, have said that they will take them to the Nepal Medical Council and submit their certificates. 

Since the formation of consumer court last March, 15 cases related to consumer rights have been registered. Among them, 5 cases are related to healthcare . The demand of Nepal Physicians Association is that the Consumer Protection Act should be amended as the Medical Council decides the dispute related to the treatment.
