After taking the oath, three newly appointed judges were assigned to the Supreme Court

Three newly appointed judges of the Supreme Court have taken the oath of office and secrecy. Meghraj Pokharel, Srikant Paudel and Shantisingh Thapa appointed as judges of the Supreme Court took the oath of office and secrecy before Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut on Tuesday.

The Judicial Council had recommended him to be appointed as a judge in the Supreme Court on May 27. Their names were approved by the parliamentary hearing committee on Tuesday. The newly appointed judges have received their seats from today. On Tuesday morning, after taking the oath of office and secrecy, the newly appointed judges got their seats from the round procedure.

Three newly appointed judges have been assigned to a joint bench under the leadership of a senior judge. Newly appointed Judge Meghraj Pokharel will share the bench with Judge Vinod Sharma. Similarly, the newly appointed Judge Shantisingh Thapa will share the bench with Judge Kumar Chudal and the newly appointed Judge Shrikant Poudel will share the bench with Judge Manoj Kumar Sharma. 

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the judges, Chief Justice Raut said that he is confident that the newly appointed judges will work round the clock to maintain the public's trust in the judiciary. He also said that the Supreme Court is determined to increase people's confidence in Nepal's justice system.
