Tribhuvan University has been under lockdown for more than a month, but pedestrians have been barred from entering. After the order of the Supreme Court, the professors' union, the New Union and Akhil Krantikari opened the lock on the university.
But Akhil Kantikari, a brother organization of Maoists, has issued a notice saying that the Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar have been barred from entering the university. The All Revolutionary University Committee has objected to the recruitment of professors, associate professors and deputy professors in the fast track.
'Our organization has decided that the process of permanent admission through oral examination without even taking a written examination at the entry point (vice-principal) is against the established values,' Akhil Krantikari said.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued an interim order to open the lockdown that has been ongoing for 34 days in Tribhuvan University. Judge Nripadhwaj Niraula's bench has issued an interim order in the name of Ministry of Home Affairs, Police Head Office and Police Circle Kirtipur not to/do not lock, if locked, to open/open.
