The Nepal Medical Association has announced a phased movement expressing dissatisfaction with the consumer court issue. The union has announced that all hospitals and health institutions across the country will close services except for emergencies on Monday.
The emergency meeting of the executive committee of the association held on Friday has announced the program of the movement, saying that it has created an unsafe environment and discourages the doctors in the current situation.
The union has submitted a memorandum to the chief district officer at the relevant district administration offices through the branch offices on Friday, and on Sunday, a protest program has been scheduled for the first one hour sit-in by all the doctors at their workplaces, the union said in a statement.
Similarly, there is a protest program of all the branch offices of the association to collect the signatures of the doctors and the certificates of the Nepal Medical Council and send them to the central office of the association, Kathmandu on Monday, and to submit the certificates of the Nepal Medical Council of all the doctors to the council on Tuesday.
