The Prison Management Department has released the statistics of 1,514 foreigners who have been held in Nepali prisons on charges of working against the laws of Nepal. Among them, 856 are prisoners and 658 are prisoners who have already been sentenced by the court.

Among the foreigners in prison, there are 1,511 men, while the number of women is only 3, the department informed.

Detainees and prisoners are kept in various prisons across the country. According to the statistics of the department, most of those in prison are serving life in prison for serious criminal charges such as drug dealing and trafficking.

According to Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Director General of Prison Management Department, all Nepalese and foreigners are in the same service facility in the prison.

"Whatever Nepali prisoners and prisoners are treated, the same applies to foreigners," he said, "but after they pay the sentence, in the case of Nepalis, they are handed over to their families, while in the case of foreigners  The Immigration Department is entrusted .'
