The work of the Sanga-Dhulikhel road section under the Araniko highway, which is being upgraded, has been stopped due to rain. The project said that the work will be resumed after the monsoon is over.
In the Pulbazar area of the road section, the work has been stopped for four months due to the obstruction of the locals. According to the road department's Suryavinayak-Dhulikhel, Dhulikhel-Sindhuli-Bardibas road project, the extension work has stopped in about 200 meters of the area. According to the office, although one kilometer of the main road has been paved in Dhulikhel, it has not been possible to pave more due to the monsoon.
Even though all the materials are ready, the road from Dhulikhel to Banepa and one km of road in Janagal area of Banepa have not been paved due to rain, said Bishnu Prasad Khanal, engineer of the project. According to him, with the expansion of the road, around 50 electric poles have to be removed in Banepa area and the work of removing one house in 28 kilos has also been stopped.
On the eastern side of Banepa city, from Chandeshwari river to Banepa Chardobato, about one km of road construction is underway, but due to rain, the work is at a standstill. In the Pulbazar area, the expansion work was stopped for four months after the locals raised objections regarding the issue of "Center Line". From the center line, 75/75 feet (150 feet) and 140 feet from the right and left, the locals raised a dispute about the need to divide the houses on both sides and blocked the construction work.
According to the design of the road, Khanal said that the construction work was stopped after the locals created a dispute saying that the distance between the houses should be equal. According to him, the discussion between the representatives of Banepa Municipality and the local people with stakeholders has not reached any conclusion. It is said that due to the obstruction of the locals, the work of removing houses and roofs within the standard, extension of electric poles, optical fiber, and removal of high tension poles has been stopped. Due to the obstruction in Pulbazar area, the construction work was stopped even in the main city of Banepa.
