Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa termed the allegations leveled against him by party central member Mohan Bahadur Basnet as 'serious, apolitical, rude and unlimited'.
Former Communications Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, who was embroiled in the Teramox corruption case, had alleged that the authority had prosecuted him because General Minister Thapa had spoken in Parliament during the ongoing meeting of the Central Working Committee. He made obscene, abusive and threatening statements against Thapa.
Denying Basnet's allegations, General Minister Thapa has said that he does not want to become a dirty person again by handling the garbage.
Instead of countering an accusation, he adopted the style of rejecting it and said, 'Bae used to say, someone should make an accusation and give an answer . My mother used to say, don't litter - if you litter, you will become dirty. Today I will listen to my mother .'
Thapa directly addressed the Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and criticized the trend of showing threatening language and indecent behavior in the meeting of the Central Committee in his absence. He said, 'I was in talks to address the demands of Tarun Dal's hunger strike friends. But inside the meeting, a central member made a mixed threat. That is moral degradation .'
Former Communications Minister Basnet, who was involved in the Teramox corruption case, has been ordered to be released on bail by a special court.
