Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has decided not to take the government services and facilities received as a former President. Former President Bhandari's personal secretariat reached the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday and registered a letter about not taking service facilities.
Just last Saturday, former President Bhandari announced her return to the active politics of CPN (UML) saying that the responsibility to build socio-economic transformation, happy people and a prosperous Nepal is still incomplete.
Speaking on the occasion of the 74th birth anniversary of public leader Madan Kumar Bhandari at the National Conference on 'Three Decades of Job', she said, 'There is no such thing as fatigue in politics. The welfare of the country and the people is my aim and goal.'
According to a source close to Bhandari, she has decided to give up the service as there will be questions about taking the government services and benefits she received as a former president when she returns to active politics.
