Youth entrepreneurship promotion conference held in Kathmandu

Federal level youth entrepreneurship promotion conference-2082 has been completed in Kathmandu under the organization of National Youth Council. After completing the entrepreneurship conference in various provinces, the council held a conference at the central level. The conference was inaugurated by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav on Monday.

Addressing the conference, Vice President Yadav said that the entrepreneurial thinking, knowledge, skills, abilities and experience of the youth are  He said that it should be utilized for nation building. He said that enterprises related to hydropower, tourism, herbs and other sectors should be encouraged and added to the sustainable development goal.

He expressed his belief that the youth entrepreneurship promotion conference will highlight the thinking of becoming an entrepreneur in the youth, involvement in economic acquisition and the role of the youth in building a prosperous nation.  At the

conference, Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Sharatsingh Bhandari said that skills, entrepreneurship and employment should be brought together. He also discussed that the government is going to celebrate the domestic employment promotion decade. 

Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari informed that the Ministry of Industry is promoting startups and youth entrepreneurship. He said, 'Ministry of Industry has started giving start-up loans ranging from 5 lakh to 25 lakh rupees to youth based on commercial projects.' 

Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Choudhary emphasized that the economy which is being supported by imports should be promoted and made export-oriented by promoting entrepreneurship. He said that such conferences will be of special importance to encourage young entrepreneurs to develop new ventures and to find investors for new startups. 

Parliamentarians Padam Giri, Udayashamsher Rana, Madhav Sapkota and Sovita Gautam were present in the panel session on 'Common Questions of Prosperity'. They thought about the journey of prosperity through the path of entrepreneurship.

In the panel discussion on 'Future exit for youth: employment, entrepreneurship and skill development', Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Krishna Bahadur Raut, former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bhawani Rana, bankers Anil Kesari Shah discussed the promotion of youth entrepreneurship. 

Similarly, Rashtriya Commercial Bank CEO Devendraraman Khanal, Nabil Bank CEO Manoj Gyawali and venture engineer Ranjit Acharya gave separate presentations on startups, subsidized loans and financial access. 

The Executive Vice President of the National Youth Council, Surendra Basnet, emphasized on the effective and result-oriented implementation of youth targeted programs run by all three levels of government. He made it clear that the conference was organized to discuss multifaceted issues such as startups, concessional loans, and increasing financial access to promote entrepreneurship.  350 young entrepreneurs from all over the country participated in the

conference based on online application.
