The government has sanctioned a large number of secretaries to travel abroad at once to participate in various international forums.
Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung announced the decisions of the cabinet meeting held on June 13 and informed that the foreign visit of the secretaries has been approved.
According to him, the foreign visit of Communications Secretary Radhika Aryal, Water Supply Secretary Pramila Devi Shakya Bajracharya, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma and Health and Population Ministry Secretary Bikas Devkota has been approved.
Gurung said, 'There are invitations to participate in various forums. I was also invited, but I am preparing to go to other countries. The Communications Secretary is going to attend an IT conference in China. Similarly, we have approved the visit of the secretaries of other ministries.'
He added, 'Secretaries of Ministry of Food and Water, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Ministry of Communication and Ministry of Health are all going on a foreign visit. The proposal submitted by the ministries has been approved by the Council of Ministers.
This approval has been given as per the provisions required for the approval of the Cabinet Secretary and above. It is customary to approve the visit of lower level officials by the relevant ministry or minister.
This time, not only the secretaries, but also the ministers are going on a foreign tour. The Council of Ministers has approved the participation of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development in the program to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from June 30th to July 1st. Similarly, the visit of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to Paris has also been approved.
Currently, the Prime Minister himself is on a foreign tour.
