A case has been filed against journalist Dilbhushan Pathak in District Court Kathmandu for committing cyber crime.
District Public Prosecutor's Office Kathmandu has filed a case against Pathak on Monday based on the complaint lodged with Cyber Bureau under a changed name.
In the indictment filed by Assistant District Attorney Purnendra Pandey on behalf of the public prosecutor, section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, for the offense of publishing illegal material in electronic form, a fine of up to one lakh rupees or imprisonment for up to five years or both has been demanded. The public prosecutor's office has also put Pathak on the fugitive list.
Journalist Pathak presented a video material titled "Jayveer Deuba's money in Hilton" about Jayveer Singh Deuba's involvement in the purchase and sale of shares of Hilton Hotel through his program 'Tough Talk'.
Jayveer had filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau earlier saying that Pathak had committed character assassination on this issue. But the Patan High Court ordered not to arrest journalist Dilbhushan Pathak. Jayveer is the son of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba.
