Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there has been deviation in the communist movement recently. He said this while addressing a program organized in Bhaktapur.

He said that various political, theoretical, practical and cultural deviations were seen in the party's movement.

When the Communist Party was established, it was committed to serve the people through self-sacrifice and austerity and to devote oneself completely to the liberation of the class, he claimed that the current movement has not progressed according to that ideal. He said that now there is fighting for positions and personal interests everywhere.

Chairman Dahal said, "Today in the party, in the movement, there are many kinds of deviations — theoretical, political, practical, cultural — many kinds of deviations are visible." When we were moving forward by establishing the Communist Party, we expressed our commitment to serve the people through sacrifice and austerity and to devote ourselves completely to the liberation of the class, for the ideals that we used to demonstrate, whether it was during the people's revolution or during the people's movement, today it seems that there has been a lot of drought. Everywhere, it seems that there is a struggle for position, for selfishness, for personal prestige. This happened more in the central committee meeting attended by our party. As much as we should be devoted to our ideas, political issues, classes, communities and dedicated to their liberation, this did not happen.
