We have worked hard to improve the results, even students who do not get grades should not consider this as the final exam: KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister
61.81 percent students have passed this year's SEE. Out of 438 thousand 896 students who appeared in the regular examination, 271 thousand 299 have qualified for admission to class 11.
According to the results published by the National Examination Board Examination Control Office Class 10 on Friday evening, this year's pass rate is 13.94 percent higher than last year.
47.87 percent of students passed the last year's SEE. The number of students getting GPA 4 has also increased this year. 971 students from all over the country have got 4 GPA. Last year only 186 people had a GPA of 4. This time, only 410 people from Kathmandu district got GPA 4, the board said. Last year, 94 people from Kathmandu had a GPA of 4. Chairman of the
board, Mahashram Sharma, said that after the right to education has reached the local level, the results are improving because of the improvement in teaching and learning. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also expressed his happiness that the result has improved. Regarding the results, he has said on social media, "We have worked hard to improve the results in the past year. Even students who do not get grades should not consider this as the final exam, another day of success will come.'
Prime Minister Oli has not revealed how much the government has improved in education. Earlier, in a public event, he predicted that 70 percent of students would pass this year. After seeing significant progress in the results year after year, the question has arisen whether the learning has been improved or the examination system has been weakened.
Educationist Vidyanath Koirala said that there is no basis to believe that the results have suddenly improved only because of the improvement in the quality of learning. Was the score added to grace or was the student's ability passed? There is room for questioning and doubting that there has been a significant improvement in the results overnight," he said. "Some schools have improved in learning. It cannot be said that the result reached 62 percent from 48 percent. Perhaps they felt sorry for the fact that schools and colleges were going to be empty. Did the Prime Minister's wishes also work?'
Koirala said that there is no clear basis that the results have improved due to the increase in quality. He pointed out that the government should focus on improving learning rather than improving results. "It is also the responsibility of the government to teach students who can't read skills to eat," he said. 81 thousand 385 people have got GPA below 3.60 to 3.20. Similarly, there are 89,124 people who scored below 3.20 to 2.80. Most of the students have obtained the average GPA. The number of students with GPA below 2.80 to 2.40 is 48 thousand 479 and below 2.40 to 2.0 is 4 thousand 126. There are only 8 students with GPA below 2.0 to 1.60.
As in the past, most students have been 'non-graded' (failed) in mathematics, science, English and social sciences. There are 128,215 'non-graded' students in mathematics alone.
80 thousand 672 in English, 79 thousand 271 in science and technology, 53 thousand 186 in social, 54 thousand 735 in Nepali, 42 thousand 150 in economics and 18 thousand 222 in optional mathematics have been 'non-graded'. According to the board, the examination of 126 people was cancelled. Public schools have had a problem of teacher shortage in mathematics, science, English and other subjects for years. Not a single permanent post has been added to public schools since 2057. In order to pass the
exam with grade, it is necessary to get 35 percent marks in theory and 40 percent marks in internal evaluation. Exam Controller Ganesh Bhattarai informed that re-evaluation and re-examination of answer sheets were also arranged if the results were not satisfied. It has been arranged that you can apply online for that. According to the board, the supplementary examination of students who failed in SEE will be held from 29 July. This year SEE was held from 7th to 19th March.
