Foreign Employment Board under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Helvetas Nepal and the Local Development Training Institute signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding for capacity development in labor, employment and immigration coordination on Friday.

This agreement has been made with the aim of enhancing the capacity of agencies, manpower and organizations working at the local level targeting workers under the Safe Migration (SAMI) program under the leadership of the Ministry. According to the agreement, the local development training institute will provide support in the necessary courses, training materials, arrangement of training instructors and other management.

The Foreign Employment Board will provide necessary coordination and support in the aspects of development related to the trainings, training manuals, workshops, curriculum and social structures needed to collaborate for the development of the capacity of manpower. Helvetas Nepal will play a role in the coordination, implementation and monitoring of this work under the Safe Migration (SAMI) programme. According to the

agreement, the various parties will carry out the responsibilities for training material development, program implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

In the letter of agreement, Executive Director of Local Development Training Institute Kanun Lal Chaudhary, Executive Director of Foreign Employment Board Secretariat Dr. Signed by Dwarika Upreti, and Manish Pradhan, National Director of Helvetas Nepal.

It is believed that the capacity of provincial and local level agencies involved in immigration management will increase from the implementation of this agreement.
