Shambhulal Shrestha, president of Drashti Media Pvt. Ltd., and Manprasad Limbu, executive editor, have been released after posting a bond of 25,000.
They were released after paying the bond set by the special court in the case filed for contempt of court. The 6-member bench of the special court consisting of chairman Teknarayan Kunwar and members Tejnarayan Singh Rai, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Muraribabu Shrestha, Ritendra Thapa and Vidur Koirala has demanded Rs 25/25 thousand bail from both of them in the contempt of court case.
The administration of the special court had registered a writ for contempt and action against the court in order to mislead the public and affect the functioning of the court. After listening to it, the special judge asked for bail from the media president and executive editor as determined later.
This is the first case of a bench of 6 judges including all the judges in the special court. Last Sunday, Drashti wrote the news saying that "the manipulation of the middleman in the special court did not go away, the setting case was acquitted in 3 months". The court administration filed a case against Drashti Weekly, its publisher, editor and correspondent for contempt of court by writing news in an Aadhaarhin manner.
