In the case of embezzlement of Patanjali land, the hearing in the special court has ended against former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, who was made a defendant by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. 6 lawyers argued on behalf of Nepal. A special court source said that the detention order will come shortly.

When he was Prime Minister from 2066-067, the authority filed a corruption case against 93 including then Prime Minister Nepal, then Minister Dumbar Shrestha, then Chief Secretary Madhav Ghimire, then Land Reforms Secretary Chhabiraj Pant and Shaligram Singh, head of Patanjali Nepal, on the charge of illegally selling land given to Patanjali Yoga Peeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal to open industries with limited exemption.
