Although the government has formed a high-level committee to investigate the Tribhuvan International Airport immigration and visit visa case, the two opposition parties have refused.

The Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) and the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), which have been obstructing the Parliament since May 13, raised questions about the justification of the committee in the House of Representatives meeting today.

Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) MP Swarnim Wagle, who expressed his views after Home Minister Ramesh Akbar, asked how the committee's coordinator former chief secretary Shankardas Vairagi was always a favorite figure of the government and asked how the investigation will be done from a character who is himself under the radar of investigation. He claimed that even the home minister had indirect participation and direct protection in the visit visa case.

He said, 'I have no personal request towards Vairagiji. I know him well. But he has been a darling of the Provisional Authority for 10 years. He became the Foreign Secretary for seven years. He became the chief secretary for three years. He mysteriously exited as Chief Secretary. In the meantime, there have been telecom scams worth billions. Therefore, Shankardas Vairagi is a character who has to remain in the 'gutbox' of today's leaders and is imprisoned by the conflict of interests. Our party is of the opinion that he will not take this responsibility.'

Wagle also said that this investigation committee is only a gold-sprinkling committee. He added that they had a premonition that this unpopular government would make a similar decision, and added, 'The visit visa issue is serious governance, organized corruption and human trafficking.'

Saying that they will reject the committee formed under the chairmanship of former chief secretary Vairagi, he said that it is necessary to form a parliamentary inquiry committee under the leadership of an incumbent or a former judge.

RPP along with RPP has claimed that this committee formed on the proposal of the Home Minister cannot conduct a fair investigation. RPP MP Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi demanded an investigation on 14 home ministers appointed in 18 years regarding the visit visa issue. "We have a disagreement with the committee that has been formed now, this committee cannot give justice, it is above political and power selfishness, whoever is guilty in this case should be punished," he said .

After expressing their opinion in the meeting, both parties boycotted the meeting and walked out.

At the beginning of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, the Home Minister wrote an answer to the question raised by the parliamentarians on contemporary issues by requesting time from the Speaker. He also said that there are joint secretaries of 6 ministries as members of the investigation committee. The members of the committee, which has Vairagi as its coordinator, are Joint Secretaries Tirtharaj Chilwal (Finance), Aruna Joshi (Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs), Ramakrishna Lamichhane (Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation), Mani Ratna Koirala (Foreign Affairs), Pradeep Koirala (Labour, Employment and Social Security) and Anand Kafle, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The minister said that the committee was formed as a commitment to take concrete initiatives for policy, law and structural reforms to solve the problems seen in the past regarding

management and visit visas.

On May 30, two points were agreed between the ruling party and the main opposition regarding the investigation of the visit visa case . RASPA and RPP have been obstructing the parliament by demanding a high-level inquiry committee or a judicial commission to investigate the case.

The government formed a high-level investigation committee under the leadership of former National Security Adviser Shankardas Vairagi on Monday to investigate the matter of visit visas and immigration at Tribhuvan International Airport . The committee has been given a mandate of 3 months .
