Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has objected to the question raised in the Parliament saying that many schemes of the Ministry of Urban Development have been named after Ganesh Mansingh. The Deputy Prime Minister said that people including Ganeshman Singh are not only individuals but also symbols of the nation.
Deputy Prime Minister Singh while answering the questions raised by the MPs on the allocation of the Ministry of Urban Development in the House of Representatives on Tuesday said that people who contribute to the nation should be respected.
Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that the nation should respect the people who played a role in the democratic movement of Nepal. During the autocratic rule of the Rana and Shah, it was considered a crime to mention the names of these renowned great men. Only after the restoration of democracy, the nation has been able to remember their inspiring name . Since the past, the state has been implementing some development plans in their name to show gratitude to the great men who gave their lives for the country and the people," Deputy Prime Minister Singh said. "This year too, the budget has been allocated for some schemes as a mark of gratitude to those famous men. No one who is proud of being a citizen and does not want to be a raiti should not hold grudges against the name of the heroes of democracy.'
Deputy Prime Minister Singh also said that the Nepali people cannot pay the contribution made by Ganeshman Singh and others to the state. "The Nepali people cannot pay the debt of their contribution, but they can express their gratitude." Since they are no longer individuals but symbols of the state, it is the responsibility of the nation to respect them,' he said.
The MPs of the ruling party criticized the Ministry of Urban Development for discriminating while allocating the budget.
