The Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) has rejected the high-level investigation committee formed by the government to study and investigate the visit visa case.
Speaking at Tuesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, the party vice-chairman Dr. Swarnim Wagle said this. The cabinet meeting held on Monday evening decided to form an inquiry committee under the leadership of former chief secretary Shankardas Vairagi.
Vice Chairman Wagle has commented that Shankardas Vairagi is always a favorite character of power and is himself a mysterious character who is under the radar of the investigation. He has mentioned that his party's conclusion is that even Home Minister Ramesh Utkar is indirectly involved in the visit visa issue. He has also warned that his party's agitation will continue if the officials of the committee are not reviewed.
He said, 'Our party is of the opinion that he will not take this responsibility. He himself is on the radar of competent authorities. How to investigate such a person? Here the Home Minister is also under suspicion. I have no personal urge towards Vairagiji. I know him well. But he has been a darling of the Provisional Authority for ten years. He became the Foreign Secretary for seven years. He became the chief secretary for three years. And his mysterious exit as Chief Secretary. In the meantime, there have been telecom scams worth billions. Therefore, Shankardas Vairagi is a character who should be in the 'good books' of today's leaders and is trapped by the conflict of interests. Our party is of the opinion that he will not take this responsibility.'
RPP along with RPP has claimed that this committee formed on the proposal of the Home Minister cannot conduct a fair investigation.
He further said, 'He is on the radar of the competent authorities. Who will such people investigate? Here the Home Minister himself is under suspicion. What has been decided by our party, we have seen the indirect involvement of the Home Minister in the case of visit visa, we have also seen direct protection. Now the Home Minister proudly said - 'This committee has been formed on my proposal'. That is why it is wrong. That's why we are new, not stupid.'
