Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has put in the Parliament the reason why the Ministry's budget is higher in Kathmandu Valley. He said that most of the big bodies of the ministry are located in Kathmandu Valley, so it seems that there is more budget here.

While answering the questions raised by the parliamentarians during the discussion on the budget of the Ministry of Urban Development, Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that there is more budget here as the big agencies are concentrated in Kathmandu.

'The programs operated by important bodies under the Ministry of Urban Development such as the empowered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, and the Special Building Project Coordination Office are concentrated in the Kathmandu Valley.

Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that he has given priority to budget allocation for infrastructure development under the Itahari-Damak-Kankadvitta, Butwal-Bhairawa, Bhimdatta-Attaria-Dhangadhi area which is the main urban economic corridor in accordance with the National Urban Development Strategy . He said that the budget has been allocated in a way that the provincial balance will be maintained on the basis of geographical and demographic ratio within the scope of the ceiling received by the ministry.
