On Monday, the police stopped the cargo trucks at Gandakot, 60 km away, to prevent the traffic from increasing on the road section which has been blocked for a week.

Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal informed that trucks have been stopped at Gaindakot and Harakpur, 60 km east of Daune, so that there is no traffic in Daune. Trucks going from Narayangadh to Butwal have stopped at Gaindakot area. All the trucks coming from Butwal to Narayangadh have stopped at Bardghat. 

The head of the East section of the road project, Anuchha Ghimire, informed that 500 tipper gravels were placed in Downe and no long vehicles and trucks were allowed to pass in Downe to facilitate the traffic. Ghimire informed that 50 tipper gravels were kept in Downe until Monday morning. 

About 7 km from Dumkiwas to Kantipur Hotel in West Downe, the work of placing 500 tipper gravel has started. Ghimire informed that it is expected that the road section will be resumed within three days.

After the iron bridge of Binayi river in Dumkiwas was broken on the 26th of January, a diversion has been constructed from the north side of the same bridge.

According to the Road Division Office, Bharatpur, 5.7 million has been spent till Sunday when this diversion was carried out 9 times.

New bridge operation from June 31 

The new concrete bridge constructed in Dumkiwas will be operational from June 31st. Anuchha Ghimire, the head of the road project eastern section, informed that the Chinese contractor had written to her on June 31 saying that vehicles can drive through the newly constructed bridge. He said that until the traffic from that bridge is operated, we have to rely on diversion.
