Defense Minister Manveer Rai has informed that the progress of the Kathmandu-Tarai Madhes Expressway (Fast Track), which is being implemented by the Nepali Army, has reached 41 percent.
Minister Rai gave this answer while replying to the questions raised by MPs during the discussion on the Ministry's Appropriation Bill at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday.
Mentioning that the process of taking land for expressway in the districts of Terai has been completed, Minister Rai said that significant progress will be made within the next few months. About 41 percent of the fast track going from Kathmandu to Terai Madhes has been completed. Probably within the next few months, we will reach its significant progress . What I want to inform you is that the work of taking the lands of all the Terai areas outside Kathmandu has been completed . All its processes have been completed,' he said, 'so now the dispute about the land has ended.' The fast track that the government entrusted to the Nepali Army in 2074 has only progressed 41 percent in 8 years .
Similarly, Minister Rai informed that hydropower construction will not be done by the army, but hydropower protection will be provided.
