The diversion of the Binayi River in Dumkibas, which was constructed and operated on Sunday, has been swept away by the flood again.
On Sunday, about 200 vehicles were made to cross from there. But Inspector Rajan Timilsina of the area police office Dumkibas said that the flood in the river caused a diversion on Sunday night. According to him, this diversion has happened 9 times. 'Floods come in the river, it flows,' he said, 'it is created again, it flows again. Surprised.'
After the iron bridge of Binayi river in Dumkibas was broken on 26th of January last, a diversion has been constructed from the north side of the same bridge.
According to the Road Division Office, Bharatpur, 5.7 lakhs have been spent till Sunday when this diversion was carried out 9 times.
New bridge from June 31
The new concrete bridge built in Dumkibas is ready to operate traffic from June 31. Anuchcha Ghimire, head of the road project eastern section, said that the Chinese contractor had written to them that they would be able to drive through the newly constructed bridge from June 31.
Until the traffic from this bridge is operational, diversion will have to be relied upon.
