50 billion budget is needed to meet the demands of all airport operations and new construction: Minister Pandey

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey has said that a budget of 50 billion rupees is required to operate the constructed airport and to meet the demand for new airport.

Minister Pandey said that there is a big gap between the budget and the demand while answering the question raised by the parliamentarian during the discussion on the allocation of the ministry in the House of Representatives on Monday.

Minister Pandey said that many plans could not be covered due to the limitation of resources. He said that the budget created by the ministry is limited within the specified ceiling. He said that the budget has been allocated so that all the projects under construction under the ministry are not left unfinished.

Minister Pandey informed that policy reforms are being carried out to make the services of Nepal Airlines Corporation effective. "When the budget preparation process was starting, the total size of the budget was 25/300 million when the budget was made from the ceiling set by the Ministry of Finance. We have received the instructions of the Ministry of Finance, the policy and standards of the Ministry of Finance. There was a criterion of not being able to make plans smaller than 3 crores. As a result, we were only able to make eight/ten programs," Pandey said. We have not missed the sequence plan anywhere . We have allocated the budget so as not to keep it incomplete. During the preparation of the budget, the budget has been allocated for the improvement of the limited resources and means and the tourism sector.'

Pandey said that there is a demand for the operation of the constructed airport and for the new construction. "If we talk about the aviation sector, if we want to address the demands of all airports and new airports to be built, we need a budget of more than 50 billion. Therefore, the work of making the budget was challenging due to the limitation of resources," said Minister Pandey.

Minister Pandey said that instead of asking for and giving the budget, the practice of planning with everyone's participation should be established. He said, 'We have made a very solid budget now. We have seen a trend of some asking for budget and some giving. is . I believe that by ending this trend, we should choose the procedure of allocating the budget with the participation and prioritization of all sectors and communities in planning.'
