Major opposition Maoist MP Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that the election system should be changed to create an environment for proper budget allocation. Shahi said that in the current election system, MPs become ministers and they focus the budget only on their constituencies, which is a problem.
During the discussion on the allocated budget in the Sunday meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Shahi said that the budget will not be changed without changing the election system.
When going to the election, MPs said that they would build schools, build roads, develop infrastructure such as education, health, end poverty, create jobs, and complete all the development projects, but there is a problem of not having a budget.
Shahi said that the ruling and opposition MPs are not satisfied with the budget. Let's change this election system. The budget cannot be changed without changing the electoral system . It keeps getting traditional . Because that is the pressure of making this budget. The pressure on the government is the pressure of the electoral system. When going to the elections, MPs are MPs who have been elected by the people saying that they will build schools, build roads, develop education, health and other infrastructure, end poverty, and create jobs,'' said Shahi. He also says that there is more dissatisfaction towards the
budget than the opposition. "The government has made a lot of efforts to please the parliamentarians of the ruling party. But could not . Let's change it,' he said .
