Chitwan National Park has given relief of Rs 1 crore 33 lakh to families affected by wild animals. The amount has been provided as relief to the victims of 412 incidents in the central area connected to the park.
Avinas Thapa, information officer of the park, informed that after wild animals attacked the residents around the central area from last July to March, the relief money was given to the victims.
Thapa said that 9.9 million was given to the families of 9 people who died due to wild animal attacks, 1.693 thousand for the treatment of 27 injured people, 1.417 million relief money was transferred for 245 food crop damage incidents.
Relief funds are provided for wildlife damage in parks and intermediate areas. In case of death, there is a provision to give 10 lakhs to his family. There is provision for compensation even if crops are destroyed.
