Bharatpur Metropolitan Corporation brought a budget of 5.19 billion rupees

The 17th session of the Municipal Council of Bharatpur Metropolitan City has started from Sunday. Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari has proposed the estimated budget required for the implementation of the policy and program presented by Mayor Renu Dahal.

The official has submitted a budget of 5 billion 1971 lakh 66 thousand rupees for the coming financial year 082/83. The budget submitted for the next financial year is less than last year. Last year, Bharatpur brought a budget of 6 billion 55 million 85 lakh 98 thousand rupees.

In the current financial year, the target was set to generate 1 billion 80 million rupees. But by the end of May, the internal income was 1.15 billion rupees and it is estimated to reach 1.55 billion rupees by the end of June, the official said.

In the current fiscal year, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari informed that only 53 percent of the total budget has been spent in the current financial year, 38 percent for capital and 69 percent for current.

The internal income for the coming financial year will remain the same as the estimate of the current financial year at 1 billion 80 million rupees. The Metropolitan Corporation has allocated Rs 4 crore for the Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium.

Similarly, 30 lakh rupees have been allocated to make a documentary about the infrastructure prepared in the metropolitan city. The Metropolitan Corporation has allocated a budget of 947.8 million 79 thousand rupees with a minimum ceiling of 32.1 million rupees and a maximum ceiling of 34.4 million rupees for ward level projects. The budget for urban infrastructure is 140 million rupees.

Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari informed in the Municipal Assembly that Rs 105 million has been allocated for education and Rs 90 million for agriculture. He said that an additional Rs 4 crore has been allocated for regular maintenance of the roads in the city to make them pothole-free. The budget for health services is 3 crore rupees. The deputy mayor said that the budget aims to make the metropolis self-sufficient.

'Green roof on building, zinc leaf on roof discouraged'

Mayor Renu Dahal has submitted 161 points of policies and programs in the Municipal Assembly. The practice of covering the sloping houses of Bharatpur with zinc is also widespread. In the policy and program submitted by Mayor Dahal, it is mentioned to start the green roof program in public and private buildings and to discourage the application of zinc sheets on the roof. A policy has been put in place to allow the private sector to start paid parking on private real estate.

Likewise, construction of a commercial building under public-private partnership in Lionschowk and the construction of a landfill site with modern infrastructure for the city's waste management are also included in the policy and program to proceed according to the public-private partnership model.

The topic of constructing a landfill site is included in the policy and program every year but is not implemented. Until last year, 80 tons of waste generated daily within the metropolitan city was collected and taken to the banks of the Narayani river. Now the biological route of international importance has been taken to the jungle.
