President Ramchandra Paudel expressed grief over the death of former minister and socialist thinker Dhundiraj Shastri and sent his condolences to the family. President Paudel has mentioned that Dhundiraj is a leader who has unwavering faith in democracy and believes that people should be empowered in democracy.

Since studying in Varanasi, India in the year 2010, Dhundiraj has been in favor of democracy. The President has said that the role he played in involving the youth in the cause of democracy in districts including Gulmi, Palpa and Arghakhanchi during the Panchayat period is memorable.

In his condolence message, the President said, 'While I was living in exile in India after the 'Ku' of 2017, I taught for some time at Gorakhpur College and published pamphlets and magazines in favor of democracy and sent them to Nepal. He mentioned that Dhundiraj's role as a member of the House of Representatives in the year 2051 is fresh in his memory. President's Press Adviser Kiran Pokharel and Chief Private Secretary Avgya Paudel handed over the condolence message sent by the President to Dhundiraj's family on Friday after reaching Kaushaltar.
