A corruption case has been filed against the then sub-engineer (assistant technician) of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality of Saptari for getting a job on the basis of fake educational certificates.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a case against the then sub-engineer Dipendra Kumar Jha in the special court on Monday.

Commission alleges that he got a contract job on the basis of fake educational certificate. Devi Prasad Thapalia, Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission informed through a statement that according to the complaint filed with the Commission, during the investigation, the educational certificate was found to be fake.

According to him, Jha was appointed to the rural municipality by submitting a fake certificate stating that he had passed a diploma in civil engineering from the Institute of Engineering Western Region College, Lamachor Pokhara under Tribhuvan University. According to the Commission, the demand for imprisonment and fine has been taken as per the subsection (1) of section 16 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 by obtaining the benefits and privileges of that post.
