The Congress has requested the Speaker to expel the RSVP MPs for being present in the Parliament against the parliamentary dignity. The parliamentarians of RSWP, who stood in opposition to the visit visa issue, attended the Parliament meeting wearing blue ribbons on Tuesday.
After raising slogans with blue ribbons, the Congress objected to the rules and demanded the Speaker to expel the RSVP MPs.
Chief Whip of Congress Shyam Kumar Ghimire reminded that there is an arrangement to come to Parliament in modest attire and questioned whether the ribbons filled by the RSVP MPs are included in modest attire or not.
'Tomorrow, if someone comes wearing only half pants, comes in random dresses, wears anything, will it be kept within the dignity of the parliament or not? I would like to draw attention to the fact that honorable members who behave in this way should be warned by the Speaker and expelled from Parliament,' said Congress whip Ghimire . In response to Ghimire's ruling, the RSVP MPs shouted slogans saying 'we don't want to break the chair', we don't want to break the mic'.
Alleging that Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar was involved in the visit visa case, the MPs of the RSVP have been continuously disrupting the parliament, demanding his resignation and a high-level inquiry committee. They have been protesting the Parliament since May 13. Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting for half an hour after RASP MPs raised slogans in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday.
Ghimire's statement
It is arranged that you should come to the parliament in decent clothes. This is the arrangement made in the regulation. Now in this parliament some valid members are wearing scarves, is it within the decent dress or not? In this way, if someone comes tomorrow wearing only half pants, comes in a casual dress, wears anything, will it be kept within the dignity of the parliament or not? I would like to draw attention to the fact that honorable members who behave in this way will be warned by the speaker and expelled from the parliament .
