Congress spokesperson Prakasharan Mahat has said that the congress cannot be held in November. He said that the preparations for that in the Congress were not enough. In a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union Baglung on Tuesday, Mahat said that preparations are being made to hold the convention within a year.
According to the constitution of the party, although the term of office of the central committee is four years, it will be prepared to hold its office by November 2083 based on the provision that one year can be extended.
He said that even if some leaders should have a convention on time, it cannot be done immediately. He argued that even though everyone has the right to speak, it will take time to implement the convention. "The law has also given that it will take time to finalize the active membership and other internal preparations," he said.
Mahat said that the convention of fraternal organizations will be done soon. He said that the party will settle all disputes and decide on the convention soon. He also said that initiatives are being taken to end ad hocism in fraternal organizations. According to Mahat, the party has also taken the initiative to make the fraternal organizations such as Navy Sangh, Mahila Sangh, Tarun Dal and other ad-hoc committees run as ad-hoc committees through the convention.
Mahat has said that the phase of constitutional amendment will also start soon. When the Congress-UML was a coalition, constitutional amendment was also kept as a point of agreement. He said that the parties have agreed to go according to that point and that phase will start soon. "We are in the majority in the House of Representatives, the National Assembly should also pass that agenda," he said.
In another context, he said that by strengthening the IT sector, youth employment will increase. He said that the budget and policy will also stop migration abroad by giving employment to the youth. "It is not a belief that one should not go abroad, but the state must create an environment where people can earn and enjoy at home," he said.
