The ruling Janata Samajwadi Party chief whip Birendra Prasad Mahato has claimed that the budget presented by the government for the next financial year will be a milestone to fulfill the country's national aspirations. He said that the current budget will inspire to free the country's economy from structural challenges and weaknesses of the past.

Participating in the budget discussion in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Mahato said, "On behalf of the Janata Samajwadi Party, I welcome with full support the budget and program presented by the government for the financial year 2082/83". I believe that this budget will become a milestone to fulfill the national aspirations of the country. Along with the reception of the budget by the private sector, it has inspired the country's economy to be freed from structural challenges and opportunities of past weaknesses.' He said, 'The main themes covered by this budget - startup entrepreneurship based on innovation especially focusing on the youth, subsidized loan program for skill development of startup entrepreneurs, business expansion, marketing and inclusion in the value chain, allocation of funds to provide loans at three percent interest rate, and programs like innovation in agriculture and technology are commendable. These plans will play a decisive role in creating opportunities in the country and transforming it into a production-oriented economy.

Mahato, who is also a former minister, praised this budget for promoting a model of development based on manufacturing industry, energy, infrastructure, transportation and digital technology in collaboration with the private sector. He said, 'We believe that initiatives such as creating an investment-friendly environment, prioritizing the PPP model, and digital transformation of service delivery will prove to be the backbone of the country's long-term economic progress.' He said, "The Ministry of Drinking Water has been doing important work in increasing access to clean and safe drinking water in rural and urban areas, protecting water resources, and modernizing the water supply system."

Mahato said that Jaspa has always stood firmly in favor of building a production-oriented economy based on democratic, socialist and inclusive values. He said, "It seems that this budget is moving in the same direction and trying to include every class, region and community in the country". The program targeted at the backward classes, disadvantaged citizens, women, children, senior citizens and youth has addressed the essence of social justice.'

Mahato commented that it is good that production and productivity will be increased by commercializing and mechanizing the agricultural sector. He said that it is good that Chaite rice cultivation promotion program will be conducted in 22 districts of Terai and Inner Madhesh to become self-sufficient in rice within the next two years.

Mahato complained about the delay in the construction of Hulaki Highway. He said, "It is said that the construction work will be completed within the next 2 years". Why was the budget slightly less allocated to this highway, which is considered the lifeline of Terai-Madhesh? Let the government pay attention to it. The Kamala pool connecting Dhanusha and Sirha has fallen into disrepair. The government should pay special attention to its reconstruction.
